Brecon Cultural Hub is a Powys County Council project, supported by a Heritage Lottery Fund grant, to develop closely co-ordinated museum, art gallery, library, TIC, education and community facilities on the Captain’s Walk / Glamorgan Street site in the centre of Brecon. The works consist of Restoring and conserving the Grade II* Listed Brecknock Shire Hall  and Assize Court, both inside and out, creating new dedicated gallery spaces with increased flexibility for visiting exhibitions, restoration of the Assize Court and original cells, reinstatement of the Court Room furniture for re-enactment, lectures and presentations, new library facilities for adults and children, community and education rooms providing new shared learning spaces, function rooms with Audio-Visual capability, café and shop, new museum and library storage and archive facilities in a fully controlled environment, sculpture garden, car park,  tourist information facility.
