Construction of a new research facility for GOSH and UCL. It will be home to the Zayed Centre for Research into Rare Disease in Children. The new building will enable scientists and doctors to work side by side to care for young people and children with rare diseases. When complete in late 2018 it will accommodate laboratories, an outpatient department, open plan office spaces and specialist clean rooms.
Upon arrival at the project office, visitors will be provided with Personal Protective Equipment and given a brief induction before taking a short walk to the site in Guildford Place. The site tour will demonstrate the delivery of a complex building whilst having to manage a number of logistical constraints. The early stages of the internal fit out, partitions and building services will be observed.
All children will need to be escorted by a responsible adult and be able to walk unaided. Pushchairs will not be permitted on site and babies/toddlers must not be carried.
The next Open Doors will take place in 2019.
