VolkerFitzpatrick recently began an exciting new project, to design and construct Essoldo House, a new, multi-use building on London’s Kings Road.
Essoldo House will feature street level retail units, a three-screen boutique cinema and three levels of bespoke residential accommodation. This will include a single one-bed apartment, six two-bed apartments and four three-bed apartments, two of which will be duplexes.
The project includes the demolition of the site’s existing building and extension of the basement, followed by the construction of a concrete structural frame, from the basement to the fourth floor.
The structural ‘shells’ of the retail units and cinema will then be built, as well as the cinema’s core internal structure.
Please arrive five minutes before the start of your visit and congregate outside the site entrance on Old Church Street.
One of our on-site team will give you an inside look at the project, describing the history of the site and plans for developing Essoldo House between now and the completion of the project.
You’ll also get to hear what it’s like to work on a construction site and learn about the types of roles required for a project like this.
There will then be a short safety briefing and induction, before you head out for a walk around part of the site*.
On-site, you’ll see our piling contractor and fellow VolkerWessels UK business unit, VolkerGround Engineering, working with large excavators and cranes, to prepare for the piling works.
*Full personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times whilst on-site. This will be provided by the site team. Boots will also be provided – please state your size requirements when booking.
