The Collaborative Teaching Laboratory (CTL) will bring together practical teaching activities across a broad range of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects. It will also enable enhanced collaborative and interdisciplinary training and engagement.

The CTL will include high specification equipment and modern technologies to support team-working and independent learning, serving the needs of a diverse community. It will also feature dry, wet and computer laboratories for use by different student groups simultaneously, along with a public engagement space allowing the university to showcase STEM subjects to a wider audience. The building is targeting an ‘Excellent’ rating by BREEAM, the world’s leading sustainability assessment for construction projects

As the Open Day will be held on a Friday the visitors will see a ‘live’ project and they will get an opportunity to walk around the site to see works ongoing across the busy project. Prior to the walk around we will hold a short presentation, allow the visitors a chance to see progress pictures, programmes and drawings followed by Q&A time
