We are working in partnership with Grainger and the London Pensions Fund Authority to continue the regeneration of the Royal Docks by creating 154 high-quality private rented homes and 82 affordable homes for rental or shared ownership next to the Thames Barrier Park at Pontoon Dock in East London.
The project also includes new shops, landscaping, and improved access to the park, and is set to complete in 2020. It is part of a combined commitment between the project’s partners to invest in the area, creating much-needed housing for London, raising standards in the private rental market and delivering a mix of homes for local people.
Three new buildings, which range in height between five and 14 storeys, designed by award-winning architectural practice Assael Architecture, will form an impressive new gateway to the Thames Barrier Park, London's first largely post-modern designed park, which combines striking landscaping with adventurous planting.
Those living here will enjoy exceptional views over the River Thames, the park and the Royal Docks, as well as residents' amenities, external terraces and the convenience of having the DLR station moments from their front door.
Four new shops will be located at ground-floor level, bringing additional amenities for the local community and park visitors.
The park will remain open throughout construction and, while work is underway to create a new and fittingly impressive, step-free entrance, alternative access routes will be clearly signposted.
