Godiva Place is a new high-quality student accommodation scheme in Coventry city centre for use by Coventry University students.

The 772-bed facility will comprise five blocks of four to nine storeys.  En suite bedrooms will be in studio or cluster arrangements.  Open plan flexible communal facilities will include social spaces, reception, laundry and study areas.  There will be parking for both cars and bicycles.

The development is part of Coventry University's ambitious and long term plans to expand its education and campus facilities.

An engineering business, which was previously on the Godiva Place site between Lower Ford Street and the ring road in Coventry, was relocated prior to demolition of the existing buildings by Galliford Try, which is undertaking remediation of the brownfield site.

Construction will include a piled foundation solution, lightweight steel frame with a hot rolled steel transfer structure, bathroom pods, a facade comprising brickwork, sandstone cladding, flat panel cladding, aluminium windows/curtain walling and Reglit glazing and hot melt roofing.

Galliford Try will provide a turnkey solution with full fit out and loose fixtures, fittings and equipment.  The project started on site in July 2016 with completion due in July 2018.

The event will take place on 23 March.

There will be a presentation delivered on the project which will give an insight into how the buildings and structures are constructed.

There will also be a presentation on 'Careers in Construction' the Agenda being:
* Who are Galliford Try?
* Office locations
* Completed projects
* Image of Construction
* Careers and qualifications
* Training
* Skills
* Packages for new recruits

There will be a guided tour of the site.  Personal protective equipment will be provided (Hi-Vis vest / Helmet / Gloves / Glasses) but sensible footwear MUST be worn to gain access to the site.

There will be a corporate goody bag given out to each visitor
