The Bower Ashton Campus of the University of the
West of England (UWE) is the home of the Faculty of
Arts, Creative Industries and Education. The Campus’s
origins are in the purpose built 1969 West of England
School of Art.
In order to meet the current and future needs of the
Campus, a new Art and Design building is proposed to
aid and enhance the delivery of teaching and learning
in purpose built facilities. Building 2, the second stage
of the development is known as the Physical Making

Described by UWE as a ‘Physical Making Hub’, Building
2 is designed to accommodate a range of workshop
spaces, design studios, space for CFPR (Centre for
Fine Print Research), as well as associated support and
ancillary spaces.
