Construction of Primary School Building, Over the next 15 to 20 months, the old school will be demolished and replaced with an amazing purpose built modern structure. This will provide exceptional facilities and will be equipped with the very best resources through which teaching staff can deliver an outstanding curriculum to the local children.
The new Mount Pleasant Primary School building which was designed by the school with support from the EFA and Kirklees Council, will accommodate 630 pupils aged 4-11, with an additional 39 nursery places. The new building will be located in a similar location to the existing building and the main entrance will be coming off Mount Street.
The building work is being carried out in two stages. The first involves half of the school being moved into temporary accommodation for 15 months whilst the new building is constructed over the area where the classrooms were moved from. Once the building work is complete, children will move into the new school clearing the temporary classrooms for demolition and clearance.
