Old Oak Common Depot

Taylor Woodrow - A division of VINCI Construction UK Contact

This four year project redevelops railway land at Old Oak Common to provide maintenance, stabling and office accommodation for the new fleet of Elizabeth line trains.

The Operations, Maintenance and Control building (OMC) is the current focus of works, with a deadline of May 2017 for delivery. It will contain 9 maintenance roads, with both the ability to lift a full train and a number of pits to provide options for accessing the underside of the trains for repair works. The stabling areas will provide a place for the trains to be kept and for minor cleaning operations to be carried out whilst they aren’t in use.

The team has developed an integrated sustainable hybrid renewable energy system as part of the design and build contract, which is expected to significantly reduce CO2 production and operational costs.

There will be a short presentation to give an overview of the project followed by a visit to the OMC and stabling yard.
