The New Papworth Hospital will be a purpose built state of the art bespoke building which will include:

310 beds, with virtually all being single rooms

46-bed Critical Care Area including Cardiac Recovery Unit and Cardiac High Dependency Unit

7 state-of-the-art theatres

5 Catheter Laboratories

6 inpatient wards and a 24-bed day ward

A centrally-located outpatient unit

State-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment facilities.

We are currently fitting the blue glass rain screen panels to clad the building and these are already complete to the west face of the hospital. The North side precast concrete panel installation is complete. The bike store is due to start 6th February and the South elevation will be complete on Valentines day.

The Atrium is currently being glazed.

Rendering to the West atrium level one will commence week commencing 13th February

Within the new hospital, the restaurant fire-rated ceiling has been installed

On the roof the East AHU’s have been installed which totals 11 out of the 18. This includes the Cystic Fibrosis AHU. The remaining AHU’s will be completed by the 17th February 2017.

The brown roof is currently being installed on the East.

By the end of February the finishes will be complete on the roof, and the tower crane will be removed.

You will be given a full site tour including

Going into a mock up room and see how the rooms will be, including the finishes.

You will be taken round the theatres and Cath labs. Then onto the roof to see the AHU’s

You will be able to see the patient rooms on levels 3 to 5

You will be able to go through to the Atrium and look up through the windows into the sky

Travelling from the North

Take the A14 through to the M11 and exit at Junction 11. Follow the yellow AA signs for Papworth or Addenbrookes. Parking can be found at either Trumpington Park and Ride, where the bus will drop you at the top of the sitein Robinson Way, or use the car park at the hospital and then its a short walk to site.

Travelling from the South

Take the M25 round to the M11 and exit at Junction 11 then follow as above.
