At the time of Open Doors Week, Osborne will have just completed the new build of a £7.4m Construction Trades Centre for City College Brighton & Hove, situated on the top of the South Downs looking onto the English Channel.

The new state-of-the-art centre will enable the next generation of construction students and apprentices to enjoy facilities including trade workshops, classrooms and study areas. There will even be a dedicated double height room to build a fully functional house throughout the academic year.

The building has also been designed to allow students learning different trades to work together and follow each other through the construction process, mirroring real site conditions.

Reaching four storeys high the building has been constructed with a metsec and concrete frame and with split level access to two adjacent buildings. It is clad in brickwork, render and timber cladding.

Although the centre will have been recently completed, there is a real opportunity to look round the brand new facilities, try an activity and understand the construction process, from artists impressions to the final build.

After a short presentation about the project and the different careers in Construction you will have the opportunity to view the building.

You will then have the opportunity to take part in a short activity.
