Beech farm, Swinton
Galliford Try Contact
Beech Farm, also known as Poets Estate in Swinton, is a major regeneration scheme which will see the demolition of 146 properties affected by structural issues, replaced with 161 new homes for rent and sale.
120 of the new homes will be prioritised for the current tenants whose properties are affected and will be for affordable rent. The remaining 41, of the 161 new properties, will be for sale or shared ownership, offering a new tenure offer within the estate.
Work will be carried out over four phases enabling residents of the affected properties to move into the new build homes, and provide vacant possession on future phases.
Galliford Try Partnerships is working with housing provider Salix Homes to deliver the first two phases that will see 60 properties demolished and 70 new homes built, along with new front boundary treatments to around 130 existing properties.
Galliford Try Partnerships have also pledged to bringing in local trade for the work, as part of Salix Homes’ commitment to support one local person into work or training every day of the year by 2020.
Work on the first phase started in November 2016. The first handovers are anticipated in November 2017, with both phases expected to be completed by summer 2019.
Visitors will be shown around the site, and site manager and contracts manager will show the visitors all of the equipment used on site, the progress of the sites and all the different potential jobs that might be available.
There will be a short presentation, then a walk around and potentially on the site.
