Fry Building

Balfour Beatty Contact

The University’s design brief was to refurbish the building as a Top 10 world class facility for mathematics research and teaching that will attract and retain staff, undergraduates and postgraduate students.

In addition to refurbishment of the 10,000m² Grade II listed buildings, our works will provide significant public realm improvements.  Extensive structural alterations are being carried out to the fabric of the building but retaining and restoring a number of the original features. New steel mezzanine floors are being installed to increase the learning capacity within the facility and existing lecture theatres are being refurbished.

A new 140 seat lecture theatre is to be built with a raised external terrace and lawn which provides an exceptional view of one of Bristol’s heritage landmarks, The Wills Memorial building.
