Hornsea Windfarm – Onshore Cabling

The project is to undertake the onshore 400/220kV cable installation to facilitate the Hornsea off shore wind farm.
The wind farm once completed, will become the world's first gigawatt scale wind farm, far from shore. Scheduled to commence operation by 2020, the wind farm will have the capacity to supply over 1 million UK homes with electricity.
The cabling project consists of the ecavation and installation of 38km of cable through the local countryside to the substation.
Modification of road access points - construction of access roads - excavation of cable trenches - installation of cables - associated drainage works. Visitors are likely to see large items of mobile plant in operation including excavators, cable intstallation equipment and earth moving equipment.

The site compound is situated immediatley adjacent to the A16 around 5 miles south of Grimsby.
On arrival at site the security team will direct visitors to the car parking area where they will be met by a member of the project team.
Site staff & visitors dedicated car parking available - tarmac surface - reverse parking only - one way system in operation
