Bulls Lodge Substation is a new substation connected to the existing electricity network north of Boreham in Essex.  Its purpose is to provide power to the Network Rail infrastructure in the area to allow trains to run on the Liverpool Street to Ipswich line at greater frequency than is currently allowed. Construction consists of two new substations operating at 400kV and 25kV, a cross country HV cable linking the two sites and also some overhead powerline works to link to the existing power network.
