Joint strategic asset (Suffolk County Council (SCC) and St Edmundsbury Borough Council and Forest Heath District Council (West Suffolk)) centred on waste collection and recycling for the area. This new facilities will include a range of aligned functions, which briefly includes:-

A Waste Transfer Station (WTS)A recycle baling facilityA household waste recycling centre (HWRC) including stand-alone resale facilityA fleet maintenance depot and administration buildingFleet vehicle stabling, fuel island and vehicle washLandscape vehicle / tools storageStaff vehicle parking

The cladding system to the buildings will be ongoing, the fit out and install of the office areas will be underway with roller shutter doors being installed to the buildings 

Externally

There will be a lots of foundations for all of the specialist equipment being installed such as sprinkler tank, weighbridges, prefabricated buildings. The concrete yards will be being poured around the site and the asphalt roads will be cut and graded to final levels with asphalt down in certain areas. The widening of the roadways will be commencing on Fornham road. The potential of the landscaping and fencing will have commenced.

If you are arriving via the A14 (East or Westbound) leave the carriageway at J43, take the exit on to the A134. At the roundabout take the first exit, then at the Barton Hill roundabout turn right on to Fornham Road. The site entrance will be on your right (see adjacent). 

If coming from the north via A11 take the A134 exit, and follow the road for approximately 11 miles until you get to the Barton Hill roundabout. Turn left and the site will be on your right
