Galliford Try are currently carrying-out the design and build of the second phase at the ‘Republic’ branded office development; the Export Building (Capstan House) at East India Dock, in London’s Docklands.
Works comprise extensive alterations to an existing 9-storey office building, including an extension and full refurbishment of the existing office accommodation to a CAT A standard. A new atrium infill and atrium glazing is being provided, together with alterations to the ground floor layout, first floor colonnade infills and the formation of event space within the basement.
One of the most interesting features of the development is the use of Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT), which features heavily in the pavilion and north extensions, as well as the roof and atrium areas. An impressive 24,756 sqft of CLT has been used on the project in total.
The Export Building is scheduled to complete in late Spring 2019, so visitors will get the opportunity to visit a near-complete construction site, as well as seeing the completed Public Realm area and adjacent Import Building, completed by Galliford Try in 2018.
Following a visitor safety briefing and an introduction to Galliford Try, guests will be accompanied by our experienced site management team on a tour of the site, with a valuable Q&A opportunity provided at the end of the visit.
