The regeneration of Blackberry Hill Hospital will create 346 high quality homes, 129 within converted buildings and 217 new build on the adjacent Laundry Fields.
The redevelopment will also provide retail space, commercial start up units, community space and high quality public realm.
The site was historically a prisoner of war camp, military depot and more recently a hospital. Many of the buildings that remain today result from the redevelopment that took place in the 1860's including the main Grade II listed hospital building.
Works commenced in March 2018 with the demolition of some of the existing buildings and diversion of service media.
we are delivering the first new build phase, our low rise residential dwellings, using SIG-I House Panelised Modern Methods of Construction to ensure our project delivery.
In addition to the construction and redevelopment works, the site has welcomed delegates as part of the Galliford Try Skills Academy to enable those studying construction or who wish to work in the industry, gain valuable on site experience and learn basic Health and Safety skills.
