A £17.5million partnership project contracted to VBA on behalf of Fylde Council and the Environment Agency to replace and upgrade concrete defences and promenade area.
The works comprise of replacing the existing time expired and currently failing coastal defences with Church Scar seeing the construction of a smooth pre-cast concrete revetment along approximately 0.9km length of the waterfront. A new exposed concrete aggregate promenade slab will be constructed as part of the finishing works including new balustrade railings and ornamental street lighting.
At Fairhaven the construction works sees a new stepped pre-cast concrete revetment with raised promenade and the provision of a future set back wall along an approximate 1km length of seafront.
You will arrive at site and meet the project team.
• You will be given a project update presentation and site safety induction. Once complete we will issue Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to wear, including a hard hat, safety glasses and high visibility vest. You must wear these at all times on site.
• Guided tour around the site
• Question and answer session at the end of the tour
For safety reasons, you must be wearing long sleeves, long trousers and closed toe footwear with a grip; such as walking boots, walking shoes, or wellington boots. Trainers will not be permitted. Unfortunately, if you do not follow this guidance, you will not be permitted on site.
Please note the site tour is only available to those who have booked a place. The tour is not suitable for children under the age of 7. Mobile phones and cameras are not to be used whilst on site.
