The project is partial site refurbishment consisting of 2 phases of demolition and replacement of accommodation within the existing footprint of the demolished buildings.  Phase 1 is a 3-storey teaching block constructed from Steel Frame and concrete planks, with phase 2 a modular construction changing and teaching facility to support the existing sports hall.  The client of the DofE (Department of Education).

This is an opportunity to see behind the hoardings of the Hartsdown Academy Project we are delivering in Margate, Kent


At Kier, we are passionate about showcasing all that the built environment has to offer. During this tour we will cover the following;

1. Site induction – a welcome to the site, cover of health and safety and introduce you to key members of the team

2. Project overview - an introduction of the project itself and confirm the key milestones

3. Walk around the project

4. Careers within the built environment – a brief overview of the various jobs available and routes toentry

5. Questions & feedback

On the day, please make sure;

From the A299 take the 2nd exit onto Canterbury Road (A28) towards Margate from St Nicholas Roundabout. At the Mini roundabout take the second exit to stay on Canterbury Road (A28). At Victoria House, turn left into George V Avenue. At the bend in the road Hartsdown Academy will be on the left. Parking is available in the nearby streets. Upon arrival please report to the Kier Site Management Office.
