In the evolving student quarter of Cardiff - one of Europe’s fastest growing capital cities - the availability of private sector student accommodation no longer meets demand.

Shaped by feedback from intensive community consultation, the scheme will offer up to 10 storeys at its highest point and include a mix of apartments, studio-style living and cluster accommodation, all set within a secure, high-quality development.

Residents will have full access to an on-site multi-media room, gym, yoga studio, a private dining facility multiple study areas, and a private courtyard - providing open space for the students.

The Project consists of the demolition of an existing 5 storey Hospital Building and construction of a new 644 Bed Student Accommodation on the edge of Cardiff City.

The project is square on plan with a central Courtyard and will be subject to five sectional Handovers.

The superstructure consists of a reinforced concrete ground and first floor slabs resting on CFA Piles around 11m deep.

Above the first floor slab, the construction is of lightweight steel frame with Various cladding details and Brickwork.

There is generally 4-5 floors, with a tower on core B rising nine floors.

We are currently into week 73 of a 99 week programme and all phases are now roofed in.

Through the five sections, we have trades varying from Plaster boarders, M&E, Plasterers, Carpenters, Painters, floor layers and Furniture fitters.

Core C is the most advanced and is currently going through client inspections in readiness for the first sectional handover in April.

Scaffolding strike will be commencing next week to cores C & D following brickwork cleaning and snagging.

External Works will commence mid April.
