Bouygues UK has designed and is building what will be the tallest residential building in the city centre of Bristol. The landmark 26-storey residential tower will provide 375 new homes, comprising 300 one and two-bedroom private rented sector homes apartments and 75 affordable homes, spanning a gross internal floor area of 29,373m2.
Castle Park View is located to the south east of Castle Park, which is Bristol’s largest urban green space. Positioned on the site of a medieval castle and the culverted River Frome, with close proximity to the main A4044, Cabot Circus shopping centre and nearby offices, the project presents a complex set of constraints and considerations. In line with Bristol City Council’s usual planning requirements, we produced a comprehensive Construction Management Plan as well as commissioning an archaeological dig to locate the existing dry ditch between the castle site and the river prior to commencement of works on site.
The brownfield site on which Castle Park View is under construction, is the former home of Bristol’s Central Ambulance Station which was demolished in March 2015. It was then that, Linkcity along with their design team, won a competition by the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA) & Bristol City Council (BCC) to become their preferred development partner, to bring forward a residential-led regeneration of the former Central Ambulance Station site in Bristol and bring the area around Castle Park back to life.
Visitors will be able to walk around and view the Cardiff Innovation Centre:
• Spark Building (nearing handover to client)
• Final technical fit out of Translational Research Hub – inc laboratories, talk on the cleanroom build
• Exterior of all buildings and landscaping
• Discussions around the technical aspects and challenges of the construction process

During the site visit, all visitors can expect an induction on arrival, followed by a brief overview of the project. Once provided with PPE, visitors will then be taken on an escorted visit around the team by a member of the project team. Throughout the tour, visitors will be able to see the construction take place in front of them as the site will be live with all hands on deck.
