The Duncan Edwards Leisure Centre, is based in Dudley in the Midlands. The leisure centre takes its name in honour of the borough’s most famous sporting son, former England and Manchester United player, Duncan Edwards, who was born and raised in the town.
The project is sees the team design and build a new two-storey sports leisure facility that will include an eight lane swimming pool, a teaching pool, a five court sports hall, two multi-purpose/dance studios, spin studio, an100 station fitness suite, associated changing and toilet accommodation facilities, a café and support and administration rooms.
On arrival, all visitors will receive an induction before a presentation on the history of the project. Visitors will then be provided with PPE and escorted around the project by a member of the construction team where they can see first-hand the works that are taking place behind the scenes, where you'll see both internal and external areas such as pre-constructed swimming pool hall, sports hall, changing rooms and external plant areas.
You'll have the opportunity to look see it in the final stages of construction and to get an insight into the following trades; carpentry, tiling, painting, external cladding, second fix electrical and mechanical works, ceiling fixing, ground works, brickwork and flooring.
