St. Modwen's development at Copthorne includes space adjacent to the M23 for a new Industrial and Logistic Park as well as a 500 home new community named Heathy Wood set in woodlands on the western edge of the mid-Sussex village. These are located close to Gatwick Airport and Crawley, but also hidden amongst mature and ancient woodland near to, and connected to, Copthorne Village.
A brand-new access route into the site from the A264, just off Junction 10 of the M23, has been delivered for this superb development, which will create a special place to live and work with leisure facilities to include sporting recreational space, allotments, open spaces and a cycleway. New community amenities including a proposed new doctors' surgery and a new primary school is also consented.
St. Modwen is the master developer delivering significant road, amenity and green infrastructure. As a group St. Modwen leads the way in delivering high-quality environments to live and work across the UK. At Heathy Wood that will create new homes and business space for people to enjoy and be proud of.
Site-wide road, utility and green infrastructure are being provided to deliver serviced development land to the housebuilding and commercial market. The first phases of development commenced in 2018.
St. Modwen Homes will deliver the new homes reflecting the woodland and mid Sussex character and tradition. The earliest house completions on the site are anticipated in early 2020, welcoming the first of 500 new homeowners to the area.
