Delivering a flexible workplace for the next tech generation.Sitting within a conservation area in the heart of London’s Shoreditch, the site of the original Victoria Black and White building involves complex logistical challenges. A historically restrictive site, the new six-storey 45,000 sq. ft. building will deliver an increase in new floor space over four times the existing, whilst also providing courtyards and roof terrace spaces. Owned by The Office Group since 2013 as a flexible office and co-working space the new project will see the site transformed into a high quality, flexible and social workspace highly appealing to the up and coming Shoreditch tech scene.
Building one of the largest cross-laminated timber buildings in London.
The delivery of the project involves highly complex logistical challenges, with extensive third-party consents including party wall awards, rights of light, crane oversailing and a BAPA.
Building to the highest sustainability standards. The sustainable project eliminates the use of concrete above the ground floor slab and is being built entirely from timber from renewable sources. Its innovative design combines fully exposed cross-laminated and glue-laminated beams in reference to the site’s history. A CLT framed structure, wrapped by a timber-louvre curtain wall, will form the external ‘skin’ of the building.
Built to the highest sustainability standards, this complex scheme will create a shared working space in the heart of London’s tech scene. This building has achieved net zero carbon in construction and use.
Opportunity to view a building that has a completely timber super structure including frame, core, curtain walling and solar shading.
The super structure of the building will be largely complete and the early stages of the category B fitout will be underway.
