Perry Barr residential scheme
The Perry Barr Residential Scheme will provide 1,400 much-needed new homes for Birmingham. The tallest building on the scheme tops out at fifteen storeys – other buildings on the scheme include multi-storey apartment blocks. It is being built on the former Birmingham City University North Campus. The scheme is part of the wider regeneration in the north west of the city, including improved leisure and community facilities along with upgraded transport infrastructure.
There is also a skills academy on site offering training opportunities for entry level construction jobs.
Lendlease is the Management Contractor for the Perry Barr Residential Scheme, working with Willmott Dixon, Kier, Munnelly's and Vinci UK to deliver the project. Each contractor has adopted unique construction methods, utilising best practice in traditional construction through to breaking the mould in offsite delivery.
This event is designed as an ‘educate the educators’ session, ideally for teaching staff and careers advisors with the aim of sharing what construction as an industry can offer in terms of career opportunities. It will be focused on STEAMS (science, technology, engineering, art, maths and skills) and how these can translate into jobs in our industry. These include areas such as project management, digital engineering, modern methods of construction, surveying, design and many more!
As well as this, guests will also have the opportunity to take a walk around the live construction site and see what such a project has to offer.
Information on Open Doors 2022 will be released shortly
