The Crawley Civic Office project involves the part-demolition of the existing Crawley Town Hall, construction of a nine-storey building, and Public Realm works. The project is phase 1 of 2 the two-phase development, comprised of both commercial and residential, located in Crawley town centre. The scheme has a value to Kier of circa £40m and will be delivered over a 2 year period. Demolition starts in Nov 2019 and will comprise of Both CAT A and CAT B finishes.
This project represents a key ‘opportunity site’ in the regeneration of Crawley Town Centre and will offer not only Crawley Borough Council with a new building with modern facilities, but also enhance Westrock’s impressive portfolio in Crawley. The commercial space above the Council offices will attract businesses to this key town centre location.
This flagship building – and the wider masterplan on the current site of the Town Hall and multi-storey car park – will unlock potential in the town, offering residential, Public Realm, District Energy Centre and a new public square. The building will contribute to Crawley Borough Council’s objectives of dynamic business growth, a high-quality town centre with a rich mix of uses and a vibrant community heart for Crawley and the Gatwick Diamond.
