About Spelthorne Leisure Centre
Willmott Dixon are building the new Passivhaus leisure centre for Spelthorne Borough Council, which is due to complete in Spring 2024. It will include a 25 metre eight lane swimming pool, sauna and steam room, sports hall, squash courts, fitness suite, spin studio and football pitches. The building will consist of a steel-CLT hybrid frame and clad in brickwork and structural glazing. The Passivhaus methodology has become the world leading standard in energy efficient design and construction. Consequently, the project has undergone an optimisation process to follow the Passivhaus design principles.
