Located adjacent to the main entrance at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital, the project will provide a new Acute Medical Unit (AMU) as an extension that connects to the main building with link bridges, for the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust (ELHT).
The unit comprises of two stories with first floor enclosed link bridges. The first floor includes the AMU clinical areas, reception, staff bases, offices, pharmacy and utility spaces. The ground floor includes the lobby, plantroom, stores and porters a accommodation/training area.

From the M65 Leave the M65 at Junction 5 (Shadsworth/Haslingden) onto the A6077, Haslingden Road heading towards Blackburn, Go straight across the next four roundabouts and at the fifth roundabout turn right into the main hospital entrance. Take the next left and pass through the parking barrier (call the operator and inform them you are visiting the construction site) ,the IHP site cabins are located on your left, with limited parking available.
