The design and construction of a new Genesis Cancer Care Unit and MSCP.
The works comprise the design and build of a two storey cancer care centre of approximately 2,300 m² Gross Internal Floor Area plus 500 m² of Top Floor/Roof Plant and associated hard and soft landscaping, roads and car parking, perimeter treatments, mains services and drainage. Approximately 300m² of the Gross Floor Area of the building will be left as shell only for fitting out as Clean and MRI Exam facilities later by Others.
The building comprises of two parts; a steel framed two storey structure which will house, 1 MRI Exam and 1 Mamo KV facility on the Ground Floor and 1 Spect CT Exam and 1 Pet CT facility on the First Floor, with associated protections and a double concrete bunker which shall contain a Linear Accelerator machine and an MRI Linear Accelerator machine. The building also incorporates support and back-up facilities for the foregoing plus Consulting, Changing, Toilets, Ultrasound, Waiting, Reporting, Storage, Meeting, Exercise, Well Being, Hot Waste, Hot Labs, Staff Facilities, etc.
Most of the plant is located at roof level above the concrete bunker however some plant equipment extends onto the steel frame structure.
The design and construction of a new six storey car park, providing a total of 598 staff parking spaces, 30 of which are to accommodate active electric vehicle charging and 30 of which are for the provision of passive electric vehicle charging. The MSCP will also accommodates a fitted out security office.
The building will be founded on CFA piles approx. depth 16mtr. The foundations will be pile caps and ground beams. The superstructure is a steel frame with metal decking and in-situ concrete slabs. Surface protection will be applied to all concrete decking. Either end of the car park precast stair cores will be installed.
Other services will include 2No 8 – 13-person passenger lifts - one of which will be a firefighting lift, CCTV system, Intercom barrier system, ANPR, Intruder alarm and access control.
Activity
Visitors will be welcomed to the project with an initial introduction and briefing about the project before being toured around the work areas so they can visually understand the project, and its final usage.
