The Pears Building will comprise the UCL Institute of Immunity and Transplantation, offices for the Royal Free Charity, a Patient Hotel and a car park. The building will enable UCL to deliver research excellence and enable the Royal Free Hospital to provide local care with world class expertise to patients.

The facility will provide the environment and resources to move quickly between the different research stages:
basic science, the pre-clinical and clinical stages and first in-human treatment.

It will provide much needed opportunities for on site collaboration between a number of interrelated disciplines. The facility seeks to attract 200 researchers to further enhance its bench-to-bedside translational research.

Research will cover the development of vaccinations, gene therapy and cell therapy to treat immunerelated conditions as well as designing new types of transplantation.

Once you arrive on site, there will be a short talk on construction activities on site, a video to watch on final use of the building, followed by a tour around the site so you can see first-hand the work that is taking place.
