Galliford Try is offering workplace visits for a group of up to 12 students plus teaching staff to their Bolton UCS site.
Commissioned by the Department of Education and run by the multi-academy trust, Quest, the project is an extension to Bolton University Collegiate School (UCS), providing state-of-the-art teaching facilities, including a dining area, kitchen, sports hall, and activity studio. The extension will increase it’s capacity from 620 to 840, allowing Bolton UCS to educate an additional 220 students. Additionally, the school will transition from a vocational to academic curriculum with 1,086 sqm of refurbishment to existing areas of the campus.
The new facilities are set to open in September 2025, and the project will be in week 51/75 of the programme during Open Doors, with M&E underway.
Galliford Try is managing bookings directly. Please email all booking enquiries to Hannah.Williams2@gallifordtry.co.uk.
Each 1-hour visit is delivered by the Project Manager and includes a presentation about health and safety, followed by a behind-the-scenes tour of the live construction site (hard hats and PPE will be provided).
The visit also explores career opportunities in construction, including some of the less obvious roles in design, planning, and pre-construction teams, along with some myth-busting.
