About the event

This is an IHP project (joint venture between VINCI Building and Sir Robert McAlpine)

The Rivers Health Campus Project at Hellesdon Hospital is the design and construction of three new 16 bed mental health wards, landscaping and infrastructure works associated with the construction of the new wards on the lower plateau area of Hellesdon Hospital

The site is brownfield but with limited previous development on the area of the new buildings. The buildings are therefore comparatively low risk with regards to health, safety and the environment when compared with similar new build projects of a similar magnitude.

The project is BREEAM Excellent and has Modern Methods of Construction and Net Zero Carbon targets. A value engineering exercise has led to the frame being changed from a timber construction manufactured off site to a steel frame. The buildings are largely single storey with small areas of double storey.

Activities

Visitors will be welcomed to the project with an initial introduction and briefing about the project before being toured around the work areas so they can visually understand the project, and its final usage.
