About the event

The project is an IHP project, which is the joint venture between VINCI Building and Sir Robert McAlpine.

The Project will provide redesigned acute and emergency services within a new fit for purpose, compliant, capital build which will support significant operational benefits for the Trust and wider community.

The new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre building will facilitate the Acute Care Model, combining and expanding the current Emergency Department, Same Day Emergency Care, Frailty and Acute Medical Unit on the ground floor.

On the first floor the Trust will bring together all Level 1,2 and 3 critical care services in new purpose-built accommodation.

Additionally, essential site-wide engineering infrastructure will be addressed in support of the capital build and future Site Development Plan for the hospital.

Activities

The new hospital facility is nearing completion, so the activities are currently focused on the finishing trades, such as decoration and furniture installation. There will also be significant work being undertaken on the commissioning of the extensive mechanical and electrical systems.
