About the event
The new leisure centre for Spelthorne Borough Council will provide the community with a modern and energy efficient space that will consist of:
- an eight lane 25m main pool, learner pool, splash pad and spa
- a six-court sports hall
- three squash courts
- 950 square metres of fitness space
- two studios, one spin studio and a multi-use room
- badminton courts
- an open plan café and reception space
- roof terrace overlooking four small-sided 3G football pitches.
It will be the first wet and dry leisure centre to achieve the Passivhaus standard in the UK and is designed to consume up to 60% less energy compared with a standard new building.
It is fast progressing and due to be completed for Summer 2024.
Activities
During the visit, you will be given a site tour and a talked through what types of careers there are in construction and ‘what a day in the life on site’ looks like.
Information
Minimum age: 6 years old
Anyone from six years old upwards can attend, but if they are under 16 they will need to be accompanied by an adult.
