About the event

The works comprise of the construction of a new ballroom and conferencing facility, an adjoining wing of new hotel guestrooms over four storeys providing 149 rooms for the Belfry Hotel & Resort. The works also include associated hard and soft landscaping and drainage infrastructure.

The project consists of a lower ground plant area and two storey accommodation block connected to a double height ballroom and entrance hall. There are landscaping works to the perimeter of the building including a new pond and bell-mouth access road.

All accommodation rooms are common size and en-suite, with off-site manufactured pod bathroom units.

Accommodation space schematic design is complete and development is required to complete design

to approval for incorporation in works.

There is an element of utilities diversions to carry out and manage prior to commencing sub-structure

works as part of an enabling works package and interfaces to be incorporated into the works.

The bedroom & ballroom building consists of a vibro piled pad foundation over two levels, forming a lower ground plant area and ballroom/function area, rising to a four level accommodation block. The main structure consists of in situ cast slabs, structural steel and light gauge steel frame with cast composite slabs to the first, second, third and roof level.

The envelope is constructed of masonry, curtain walling, timber & stone affect cladding and a rendered finish. There is a black timber effect perforated plant screen on the ballroom roof area. The ballroom roof consists of a euro clad built up system and hot melt flat roofs. The bedroom block is a joisted roof with marine ply, built up with bitumen membrane.
