The Whorlton Bridge is a Grade II listed structure & Scheduled Ancient Monument that was closed in 2020 following an inspection. VolkerLaser has been contracted by Durham County Council to undertake essential refurbishment works to the bridge. The works will include fully dismantling the bridge, rigorous inspection, blasting and painting, before re-erecting the bridge in the same original position.
The site visit will include a presentation with an overview of the project. Followed by talks from our key members of the team working on the project, on what their roles are and how they got into construction. The visit will finish with a quick tour of the site.
