Design and construction of a new, Passivhaus, 21st Century Primary School, delivered for Carmarthenshire County Council. On completion this new school building will provide accommodation for 330 pupils and an integral 45 place nursery.
The scheme has been designed using a Passivhaus approach, and the building will achieve excellent thermal performance and exceptional airtightness through material selection and high quality construction. In addition to the environmental credentials of the building, we are also working with the Constructing Excellence Enabling Zero Waste initiative, which involves monitoring waste arisings from different activities, identifying problematic waste streams, establishing benchmarks so improvements can be made.
We are currently at the final stages of the build with many areas already complete so expect to see many areas of the building nearly complete.
The site visit will involve a brief overview of the project, including details regarding our Passivhaus approach and zero waste initiative. This will be followed by a walking tour of the site.
