Nelson House

Lovell Partnerships (Subsidiary of Morgan Sindall Group) Contact

Lovell are undertaking a £2.5m facelift to transform Nelson House, an occupied 9-storey block of 34 residential flats on behalf of Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council.

The refurbishment includes a new feature roof, the addition of external insulated cladding, all new windows and doors, new balcony balustrades, redecorated communal areas and new lighting, fire alarms and smoke detectors.  There will also be comprehensive landscaping and a larger car park.  All of the works are being carried out around the residents who are in-situ whilst the works are being carried out.

The refurbishment will create better homes for the people living in the block, keeping them warmer in the winter and enjoying lower fuel bills.  It will also lengthen the lifespan of and improve the appearance of the building.

The work is expected to be finished in the summer of 2017.

Visitors will receive a brief introduction and site induction and then move onto a tour of the site including access to the roof (via a hoist and scaffolding) to see the construction of works undertaken.

The tour will conclude with a summary of the works, feedback and a brief Q&A session.

PPE will be provided but visitors may bring their own PPE if they prefer.

Refreshments will be available.  Car parking on-site.
