Skanska UK

About us

Skanska in the UK

Established in the UK in 2000, Skanska has more than 3,300 local experts delivering projects across sectors including real estate, defence, education, highways, rail and water.

Our work today includes:

  • Creating exceptional workplaces that inspire: We partner with customers to reimagine spaces, deliver world‑class commercial headquarters and flagship offices, and transform environments that drive business performance.
  • Trusted guardian of critical facilities: Skanska colleagues manage and maintain essential assets for major organisations, from the Ministry of Defence to City of Edinburgh Council, and support eight NHS hospitals, including specialist trauma centres such as the Royal London Hospital.
  • Building the infrastructure of tomorrow: Our engineers design and construct resilient data centres and modernise estates, drawing on global expertise to decarbonise, refurbish and future‑proof these critical national infrastructure sites.
  • Connecting communities across the UK through major highways improvement schemes including A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet, A47 Thickthorn junction and Kent roads section of Lower Thames Crossing.
  • Improving the rail network through the transformation of stations and structures, including the construction of 13-miles of twin bore tunnels under London for HS2 that will boost connectivity and capacity.
  • Laying the foundations for major building and infrastructure schemes across the UK through our piling, ground engineering and steelwork fabrications business.

Skanska Group uses knowledge and foresight to shape the way people live, work and connect. We’re one of the world’s largest development and construction companies. We operate across select markets in the Nordics, Europe and the United States.
