Hertford College Libary

  • Archaeological dig which in preparation for the new building
  • The demolition of a 1960’s building to the south of OB quad
  • Refurbishment and modification works to the West range, Old Chapel and OB5
  • New build basement including reinstatement of quad with hard and soft landscaping
  • New building over the southern edge of the basement, comprising ground, first and second floor’s with a new external terrace.

The refurbishment works to the Old Chapel and to the West range basement and level two are major refurbishment works including new ceilings and walls. The refurbishment works to ground floor and first floor of the West range are working within the existing walls with the exception of the new connection to the hall on level 2.

There are major temporary works that will facilitate the new build, the protection and new basement of the Old Chapel and the modifications to the existing.

Activities

The site will have designated zones of interest –

  • Careers zone showcasing careers in Construction
  • Archaeology zone to learn about the history of the site and what they have found in the dig.
  • Learning zone for students where the history of the College can be explored and a display of archives to peruse

A safety presentation and project overview will be given and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.

Children must be accompanied by Teachers
