About the event
We are hosting an interactive careers event aimed at school leavers to learn about opportunities within the steel industry and promote apprenticeship pathways.
The purpose of the event is to introduce young people to the steel sector, providing insight into the diverse range of skilled careers available. The programme will include an overview of the industry, information on apprenticeship opportunities, and guidance on career progression within manufacturing and engineering environments.
Activities
The event will include a structured presentation on the steel industry and apprenticeship routes, a shadow welding taster session, delivered in a safe and supervised environment and a guided factory tours to provide first-hand exposure to live production processes and a workplace setting.
The event aims to inspire school leavers to consider careers within the steel industry, and build a pipeline of future talent by connecting young people directly with employers and training opportunities.
Information
Educational Visits:Visits limited to educational institutions only.
Minimum age: 15 years old
Anyone under the age of 16, must be accompanied by an adult ( Max 1 adult per child ). We can accommodate 10 children and 10 adults in total for each event
