The scheme will see an extensive refurbishment and redevelopment of the existing facilities and the construction of new sports complex for Durham Univeristy. The project includes the creation of new state-of-the-art sports laboratories serving the Sport, Exercise and Physical Activity undergraduate degree programme. Both indoor and outdoor sports areas will be created, including two beach volleyball courts.
Visitors will get a tour of site along with a short presentation with Q&A in the site offices. Visitors will meet both Galliford Try and Subcontractor staff members to gain an insight to the project and wider construction industry.

Leave the A1 at the A177, Bowburn and Peterlee Junction. Take the exit signposted Bowburn from the roundabout. Continue on this road for approximately 3 miles. At this stage you will see the Rose Tree Pub on your left. Go over the bridge and on the right hand side you will see the Sports Centre playing Fields.
