The location of the development is on the former Esso garage on Bath Road Bristol. A complex site close to the River Avon.
The development will provide 152 new homes to the Totterdown area in Bristol. 88 of the apartments will be available for affordable rented schemes and 66 will be available for shared ownership.
The Buildings are constructed using a hybrid of build technology. Traditional in-situ concrete works have been constructed to enable the hi-tec off-site manufactured panels to be installed. The concrete panels arrive to site with windows fitted and balconies are installed as part of the build process.
The tallest building is 17 storeys above the River Avon whilst the lineal blocks are over 7 and 6 floors to maintain views over the city for the existing residents.
Using this form of construction technology enables buildings to be built on small sites reducing the impact on local residents and the highways infrastructure. Other benefits are the reduced number of onsite operations and reduction of labour required.
Health and safety is a major concern and this system creates a safer working environment for all involved in the building operations.
Due to the building's robust construction and thermal mass, we have created one of the most efficient buildings in the South West.
High performance glass and Photovoltaic panels are installed to the roofs, future proofing for district heating systems have also been incorporated in to the building.
