Willmott Dixon Interiors is working in partnership with Kier Property, transforming the 139,000 sq ft building at 19 Cornwall Street into an exemplar net zero carbon in operation, smart-enabled office building.
19 Cornwall Street is a CAT A Refurbishment and There will be a central atrium with interactive breakout areas and a planted, communal roof terrace, 150-space car park with electric vehicle charging points, a multi-functional studio, 74 cycle spaces and changing rooms.
Situated in the heart of Birmingham’s Business District, the building will benefit from a brand-new reception, VRF comfort cooling and heating with individual floor digital controls, wellbeing facilities, solar panels, and secure parking spaces.
During the week of the open doors event, and the weeks prior and following, the façade re-install works will be coming to an end with the building becoming watertight. The façade on Cornwall Street elevation has been completely stripped and installed using a brick-slip method of external works.
Internally, raised access flooring will be being installed, this raised access flooring is re-cycled and re-instated tiles. Alongside this, M&E works will be at a high, with the install of the glazing in the atrium area. Toilets will also be being installed and fitted out.
