About the event
You will be visiting our training centre to experience the different roles and specialties in the built environment. You will find out everything it takes to construct a building and the infrastructure around it – from surveys and design, through to completion. There will also be practical activities to take part in.
Activities
The event will commence with a session with a panel of trainers – this is where they will give you an overview of the industry, the different roles available and will be an opportunity to ask questions. This will be followed by a safety briefing. You will then be split into groups to be taken to the practical activities – including Cat & Genny (equipment to locate underground pipes and cables), excavator, confined space (this is optional) and more. On the day, please ensure you wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, and trainers/shoes for muddy ground.
