About the event
Imperial College London have appointed Mace as contractor for the internal construction phase of Great Hall. The project will refurbish the Great Hall, an integral part of the Sherfield Building on ICL’s prestigious South Kensington Campus, it boasts a capacity to host up to 740 individuals in a theatre-style configuration or provide an expansive 393m² of exhibition space. This versatile facility is designated for a myriad of internal events, including graduation ceremonies and captivating exhibitions. Additionally, it is available for external entities to hire, offering a prime venue for various functions. Despite its availability and potential, the utilization of this magnificent space remains relatively low, in which Mace will work in collaboration with Imperial College London
Activities
The site visit will provide students with a unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience and insights into the world of construction. The visit will allow students to see theoretical concepts taught in the classroom come to life and provide valuable real-world context to their learning. Students will learn about the history and future development of this historic hall.
The site visit will also provide students with the chance to interact with industry professionals,
such as the project managers and the architects. Students will be able to ask questions, observe
professionals at work, and gain a better understanding of the roles and responsibilities.
