Ham Baker Engineering is a historic British firm, founded in 1893, that specialises in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of flow control and process equipment for the water, wastewater, and industrial sectors. Following the acquisition by Galliford Try in 2022, the factory is a modern 1,000m² (approximately 10,700 sq ft) facility in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. This central hub serves as the core for specialized services, including asset inspection and refurbishment, while housing the production and assembly lines for bespoke products such as penstocks, inlet screens, and rotary distributors. The factory is strategically positioned to support the UK water industry’s upcoming AMP8 investment cycle, focusing on low-carbon engineering solutions and addressing critical infrastructure challenges like storm overflows.
The visit features a comprehensive factory tour and a presentation providing an overview of our engineering works, along with detailed information on recruitment and employability.
