About the event
HiVE comprises of the Construction of a part two-storey building with a total gross internal floor area of circa 2026sqm, sitting within an overall site area of 5692sqm. The works include utilising the
existing steel frame (in part), floor slab (part replacement) and surrounding carpark / site. All of the existing wall / roof finishes and associated components will be demolished and removed to provide a suitable substrate for fixing the new external roof and wall fabric. A new steel frame will be constructed in the central area of the building to support the new first floor and new roof area. The internal layout will consist of new classrooms, workshops, manufacturing areas and welfare facilities.
Activities
Visitors will have a full walk of the perimeter of the building to explain the external works to date, and future works, cladding and roof works and the final look. A walk through of the inside will explain the demolition of large section of the ground floor slab and reinstatement for the new steel frame, the future layout of the ground floor and the newly installed level 1 area.
