About the event
The refurbishment of both Balsall Heath Library and Moseley Road Swimming Baths is now underway, with both buildings being Grade II* listed. The works include structural repairs and alterations, replacement of both flat and pitched roofs, a full internal refurbishment of the library, basement steel replacement, and the installation of new mechanical and electrical services.
The first phase of construction for the restoration and redevelopment of Moseley Road Baths and Balsall Heath Library began in autumn 2025. This phase includes early works associated with the gym, reconfiguration of visitor spaces—particularly in the reception areas—installation of renewable energy systems such as air source heat pumps, and the creation of permanent level access to both buildings. The library will also be restored with lift access to a new mezzanine floor.
This site uses CSCS Smart Check – the only platform to verify all 2.3 million CSCS-logoed cards.
Activities
The activity will consist of a site tour and presentation showing the progress of the project and employment opportunities and pathways into Galliford Try.
